Marine Corps Base Quantico Installation Profile & PCS Resources

Get to know the installation.

Marine Corps Base Quantico is a Marine Corps duty location in Virginia, United States. Use official installation resources to research arrival requirements and family support.

Quantico town, Triangle and Dumfries are community reference points along Northern Virginia's Potomac corridor. The wider region also includes Stafford and Fredericksburg, which are separate housing and employment searches. The civilian town, training areas and institutional workplaces should not be treated as one address. Washington, D.C., is a regional cultural destination rather than an assumption about the household's daily route.

Installation history.

Marine Barracks Quantico was established in May 1917. The installation's later education, doctrine and training identity developed from that early Marine Corps presence, while the surrounding town and Northern Virginia communities have their own civilian histories and present-day household services.

Arrival at Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Obtain the precise reporting address and current authorized approach from the gaining organization before traveling into the Northern Virginia road network. Confirm first-night lodging separately from a course schedule or housing application. Keep the delay contact accessible, and use official directions rather than treating the general Explorer point as the entrance needed for a particular appointment.

Keep the reporting destination distinct from nearby civilian landmarks and from other military sites in the region. Confirm lodging, the first reporting step and a contact for travel changes through the official installation resources before departure.

Local character & seasonal context.

Northern Virginia's humid summers, cooler winters and changing rainfall affect travel and outdoor routines.
